Roy Stephen Kunnel BEM lives in Swindon, UK. He served nearly seventeen years in the Indian Air Force, then spent five years in charity work in India. Since moving to the UK in 2006, he has led community projects, managed facilities, started cross-community programs, and helped groups get public funding. For his volunteer efforts bridging migrant and British communities, he received the British Empire Medal in 2017 and the Pride of Swindon Award in 2015. He still works full-time at UK Research and Innovation while writing about real human struggles.
